Who let this happen?
It seems irony has its eyes set on me this week. Last weekend, I hopped into my friend’s car to drive down to College Park, MD for Homecoming. Not long into the ride I discovered that Creed’s sophomore effort (emphasis on effort) Human Clay was in his CD player. This, of course, led to myriad awful music worming itself around my head all weekend. It also sparked an hour long brainstorm of Scott Stapp jokes.
The last thing that I heard about Creed was about the the sex tape that Stapp made with Kid Rock and various roadies/groupies. (Is it more repulsive if they were Kid Rock’s groupies or Creed’s groupies? I can’t decide). That was until today, when I discovered that they’re releasing a new album this month, apparently to spite me.
Lucky for me, MTV stopped playing music videos years ago and I no longer own a radio.
The worst part of this is that Creed and Nickelback will end up headlining The Suck Tour together at sometime in the near future and “The Day The Music Died” will no longer refer to the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and The Big Bopper, but instead the day that Creed and Nickelback played opening night of The Suck Tour.
Fun Fact: The circle being referenced in the album title, Full Circle, is the ring of the metaphorical toilet bowl they’ve been circling around since they got pooped out of Tallahassee, FL in the mid-nineties.
